Dvd For Car
Are car DVD players good or bad for kids?

I have 2 kids of 4 and 1 years old. I’m considering getting them a DVD player for the car to keep them entertained during long journeys.

I’m a bit worried that it could make them want the TV all of the time and the repurcussions if the DVD player is not there or we turn it off.

What do you think? Do you have good or bad experiences with this subject?

Who Cares if it’s good or bad? It is the best Mama gift of all time: manna of the gods to those of us lucky enough to have one –especially me, because we have a home business and I do most of our errands, material pick-ups, and client meetings—with my 2-year old regularly in tow. We also travel a lot and for long distances. I could not imagine the hell moms like me had to go through before the invention of the Car DVD player.

I do not, however, use it frivolously. My son watches educational videos right along with fun ones, or I do sing-a-long types and we sing together in the car (ABC’s, Nursery Rhymes, etc.). I have the entire collection of Baby Einstein videos including the one for Baby sign language and we practice signing too (mine are one-handed while driving–LOL). I also do not have it going during the entire trip or even on every trip–so I do understand your concerns. He never gets movies if he pitches a fit for them–he has to ask nicely and say thanks Mommie! Manners Matter!

My experiences are all good and I am profoundly grateful to my loving husband for this wonderful Mother’s Day gift from last year. Mine is a ceiling installed JVC with a 12 inch screen. It’s got a great picture and has ports for video games or a computer as well. It also came with wireless headphones which are just too cool.

I think there are a lot of worse things to worry about in life than getting stressed out over whether our kids are being entertained in a socially acceptable way while strapped into a car seat. Really, they can only watch what YOU put in the player, so it’s not like you don’t have total control over what they are seeing anyway. Just make smart choices.

Besides, have you been on a long trip with your toddler lately? I have–an 8 and 1/2 hour car trip. Do you want to listen to whining or do you want to listen to Mike Myers as Shrek or Owen Wilson in Cars?

I know what I picked.

Few Things To Remember While Buying Car Dvd Players

It is not hard to spot that the popularity of car DVD players is on an upsurge. Lots of people are now willing to install one DVD player in their car to make it look more stylish and luxurious. It is however essential to mention that there are lots of companies selling different types of DVD players because of which the prices have come down.

It is quite obvious that decrease in price has to result in an increase in demand and that’s what you can see at the moment. But, when it comes to car DVD players, you have to be absolutely sure of the fact that you need it. What it means is that if you drive your car alone, there is absolutely no point in spending a lot of money to install a DVD player. It is not only illegal but it can make you pay through the nose.

However, if you drive with your family, then you must consider installing a DVD player as it will help your family to enjoy long trips while watching their favorite movie. Now, you must have understood that there are some situations when you really don’t have to buy a DVD player but if you are interested in buying one then keep following points in mind to get a better bang for the buck.

* The most important thing to consider while buying car DVD player is your budget constraints. If you don’t have a lot of money, you must stay away from buying substandard DVD players. Though there are some nice options available at lower price but you have to spend a good handful of money to buy a more sophisticated player. However, if budget is not an issue for you, it is better to consider the option of creating a surround sound car theater system.

* While opting for a DVD player, you must try to find one which allows you to play your iPod through navigation system. Though you may have to shell out some extra money but you will surely get a better value for your money.

* Another important thing to consider is about the place to shop for these players. As a rule of thumb, you must only shop from a site where there may be several other products available for you to choose from. For instance, even if you are interested in car DVD players, you must check if a site is offering products like CCTV, Parking censor and other related products. This will help you to determine the potential of a company selling such products.

There are several other things to consider but these are the most important things to keep in mind while buying car DVD players. By keeping these in mind you will always be able to find a perfect DVD player for your car.

What tools do you need to play PS2 or any other system like that in the car on a DVD player?

I have always wanted to know this. I’ve seen many people say they’ve done it before, but I’ve always failed because there is no electrical outlet in the car.
What do I need? Do I need portable electricity or something like that? And if you know how, please tell me if it’s sold in Wal-Mart or online.

Get a power inverter or wire it up straight to the battery. The power inverter is easy and can be found for less than 40 bucks for a cheap one at most places. All it does is plug into a cigarette lighter jack and provide an outlet like you would find in your house.

how to convert mobile phone videos for watching on my DVD?

I have two mobile phones, N-70 & N-73 of Nokia. I cannot watch the videos recorded through my mobile on any DVD player except on my computer. Is there any software that can help me to convert these videos into a format so that I can watch them on my DVD. If yes then what is the name of softwar and from where to get it.

Try Nero. That uses your existing codecs, so, if you can watch the video file on your PC then it will be able to convert it to DVD.

Here’s a question for you. How big is your mobile phone screen and how big is your TV?

There is no software in existance that can add data that wasn’t there in the first place to make that tiny little video file watchable on your TV.
