Well, unless it is a touchscreen, it will be harder to try to navigate through the DVDs menu, but not having the remote wont restrict you from viewing the picture in your car. there is a wire (sometimes multiple wires depending on brands like Alpine), that is going to need to be hooked up to your parking brake. Basically, this wire needs to have a ground (-) whenever you want to view the video (DVD or other). You can achieve this by putting it on your parking brake wire or on a switch with the other side wired to ground. Some older DVD players are easy to bypass by just simply hooking this wire up to ground from the harness, but newer DVD players need to “see” that you have disengaged and re-engaged your parking brake multiple times (the sequence can be found in your owners manual). So you may have to wire it to a switch to make it easier for yourself.

should work as the monitor has different settings aswell where you can change how far the screen tilts back or forward

Is there some way to put a normal dvd player in car without power inverter?

im wanting to mount a flip down screen in my car and i was wondering if there was some way to hook it up without a power inverter

If your DVD requires 120VAC then you would absolutely require an inverter. There is no other way to change DC to AC.
