about me

I'm a high school teacher in my "day job,"  but I've been writing freelance in the Catholic press for almost 10 years, publishing over 100 articles and 4 books so far.

My work has appeared in some of the most popular Catholic and ecumenical publications.  These include the National Catholic Register, Our Sunday Visitor, Touchstone, St. Anthony Messenger, My Daily Visitor, The Priest, Catholic Men's Quarterly, Family Digest, and more.  On the web, I've been at CatholicExchange.com, the Catholic Educator's Resource Center (catholiceducation.org), and Christendom-Awake.org, among others.

Your Guide to Spe Salvi: Saved in Hope is my fourth book with Pauline Books and Media, which is run by an extraordinary group of consecrated religious women, the Daughters of St. Paul.  Each of these works has been a labor of love, and being published by the Daughters is keeps me from wondering if my work is worthwhile.

More important than all that is my most beautiful work --  being a husband and father.  I live with my wife and 7 children (infant through 17) in central New York.

Looking for a Speaker?

I have been involved in religious education and faith formation in Catholic parishes for 20 years.  I've taught or spoken at parish high school and elementary school religious education, adult education programs, RCIA, and retreats for teens and adults.

I'm available for evenings, days, or weekends of reflection or adult education presentations, especially these days on topics related to hope, Pope Benedict, or the saints.  Ten percent of any money I happen to make selling my books at such an event goes directly to the institution I'm visiting.
